I grew up in Temple, Texas, and graduated from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in 1997 with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. In 2023, I earned my Master’s in School Counseling. This is my 10th year in Hutto ISD, and I’ve taught in Texas public schools for over 20 years. I am excited to be in my third year as a school counselor at Howard Norman Elementary.
I’ve been married 26 years, and my husband and I have three children (15, 22, and 25)—our youngest is a Hi-Stepper at Hutto High School, and our two oldest graduated from Hutto ISD. We also have an amazing granddaughter and two spoiled dogs. I enjoy Texas Stars hockey, quiet Saturday mornings with coffee and a book, walking in the rain, traveling, and family game nights.

Hello Hippos! My name is Leigh Harrison and I am so excited to be joining the HNES team for the 25-26 school year! This is my 14th year in education and my 2nd as a school counselor. I spent 12 years in the classroom teaching theatre and art to all grade levels. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family including my 4 year old nephew, cuddling with my dog Oliver, attending renaissance festivals, singing karaoke, reading and painting. I look forward to a fantastic year helping leaders grow!
