Assistant Principals
Amy Sutton
Dear HNES Families and Community,
I am Amy Sutton, an Assistant Principal at Howard Norman Elementary. I am excited to continue my work with the students, staff and parents/guardians of HNES, and to continue encouraging each of our students to be leaders on this campus and in the world.
I have been in education for over 20 years with the majority of those years in Hutto ISD. I have taught Kinder, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade and was also a Special Education Resource/Inclusion teacher. Being an Assistant Principal is by far my favorite role in my educational career.
One of my goals as an administrator is to advocate for all students and their needs. I will support students by helping them identify strategies that will help them be successful both in and out of the classroom. I will help teachers become masters of their craft. I will equip them with strategies and resources that will help them reach each student where they are so our students can grow academically and socially. I will also provide support to parents to ensure their child’s needs are being met and that we are creating the best team and environment possible to ensure their child’s success.
If I can offer any support to you please reach out as needed by calling the school or sending me an e-mail. I believe that our students are the most successful when we are all working together to support their academic and social learning.
Warmest regards,
Amy Sutton

Courtney Purifoy\
Hello, my name is Courtney Berry Purifoy. It is truly an honor to serve as the second Assistant Principal at HNES. I am so excited to be part of this amazing school community filled with wonderful students, dedicated teachers, supportive staff, and caring families.
Over the years, I have had the joy of teaching grades K–6, serving as a reading interventionist, and working as an instructional coach before stepping into my role as an Assistant Principal. This year marks my 26th year in education and my fourth year as an Assistant Principal.
I am passionate about supporting students in reaching their full potential and love building strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and families. I believe every child deserves the chance to grow both academically and socially, and I look forward to working alongside families to help every student thrive and shine as leaders.
